Colleen Fitch serves on the One Mission Society Theological Education Team as a consultant, professor and developer of curriculum. The commitment of the Theological Education Team is to support, encourage and equip those who are serving in leadership development around the world. It is Colleen’s joy to be assigned to Europe. Her task is to become familiar with the training interests, needs and challenges of those who serve in Europe for the purpose of facilitating their work to plant churches and to train disciples of Jesus Christ. Colleen compares Europe to Ezekiel’s valley of dry bones. It’s a secular, post-modern, global society that has turned its back on or, at best, politely ignores God. Colleen is called to support and encourage believers and missionaries in Europe who are sharing the Good News of the Gospel, preparing for the time when the Spirit of the Lord again moves across the land.
Colleen served in Madrid, Spain from 1986–1998 in leadership training, church planting and discipleship. She has worked in churches in the United States, primarily in the areas of discipleship, small groups and Christian education with all ages. She also had the privilege to serve three years as the pastor of the New Brooklyn UMC. She has written courses for the OMS Africa Community Church Pastoral Training Program and also a course on holiness for OMS that is to be taught around the world. She is passionate about teaching the Bible and encouraging people to know and follow Jesus Christ.
Colleen has a B.A. from Asbury College and an M.Div. and an M.A. in biblical studies, both from Asbury Theological Seminary. She plays violin and piano. Colleen has three adult daughters, Emily, Mary and Katherine.
